In 1980, 100 years after the creation of the cheese, cheese seller and lover of local products Georges Parola decided to relocate the cheese factory to Pornic, to continue the tradition of making the products from untreated milk drawn that morning. Production would never exceed 2,000 cheeses every day… a necessity with fresh milk! Today, the shop has been modernized, but the actions are still the same.
The factory tour, given in the morning, lets you see every step in the making of our flagship product. As we go along, you will watch the milk being processed into cheese. You will then be invited to explore our small “museum,” a permanent exhibition of objects retracing the history of the oldest cheese in the Nantes region. The tour will end with a tasting of our cheese: the Curé Nantais.
